10 Very Old Antique Glass Feather Tree Figural Christmas Ornaments With Topper
Ten wonderful ornaments and a feather tree topper which have survived the century and a half since they were made. The topper measures 9 tall and is slender – a true feather tree top – and has both Mercury glass on top and unsilvered glass below. Next is the wonderful 3 1/2 fish ornament, with bubble scales and pink fins and a sad, red mouth. The piece de resistance may well be the penguin, or dodo? Who measures up at about 4 tall and is a rare find in red accents especially. The cottage, at about 3 tall, is charming in pink. The walnut, mushroom and cupcake – all between 2-3″ – add whimsy in gold, silver and red, and the 2 1/2″ dipped nut (a German treat of yore) is topped with ground glass glitter. The drum has mica glitter, and measures about 3″ tall and the top, with its cute annealed tip measures 3″ and is pretty in pink and gold. The bubble heart – 2 across x2 1/2 tall or could that be a strawberry? Is unsilvered and uncapped. The texture is amazing. None of these are perfect but all are wonderful.
